Registered office

The physical in-state street address on file with the state where the registered agent can be reached during business hours. Not a P.O. box.

A registered office is the physical street address inside a state where the registered agent can be reached during business hours. It is the location the state has on record for delivering legal notices and official mail, and it has to be a real address rather than a P.O. box.

Companies that use a commercial agent list the agent's in-state address as the registered office, which keeps a home or business location off the public record. When the office moves, updating the state record keeps the address on file current and the entity in good standing.
