The OCC, Federal Reserve, and FDIC published an interim final rule expanding the eligibility for the 18-month on-site examination cycle. The asset threshold was raised from under $3 billion to under $6 billion for qualifying 1- and 2-rated national banks and federal savings associations.
What changed
The examination cycle eligibility now includes banks with assets under $6 billion.
Compliance perspective
Smaller, well-rated banks may experience less frequent exams, reducing operational burdens.
