Six-month contract | Potential full-time opportunity | Remote (U.S.); Atlanta metro preferred
About The Role & Cornerstone
Cornerstone Licensing is looking for a Revenue Operations & Data Governance Specialist to improve how data is structured, connected, governed, and used across the company. The first six months are a focused cleanup and improvement project: diagnose what is breaking, correct the underlying data and system issues, and establish standards that keep those issues from returning.
Once the foundation is solid, better data should support smarter HubSpot workflows, more dependable reporting, and more effective marketing. A full-time role may be considered after the contract, but is not guaranteed.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can understand how data moves through a business, identify where it breaks down, and build practical systems and automations that make the data more useful. The ideal candidate will understand that the goal is to understand data from this perspective:
Business process → data → system → integration → automation → governance → reporting
The Six-Month Mission
The goal is to complete the agreed, prioritized Revenue Operations cleanup by the end of the engagement and leave behind systems, documentation, and repeatable controls that the team can sustain.
Month 1: Discover and prioritize. Audit HubSpot, related integrations, reports, and data flows; map root causes; agree on the project scope, baseline quality measures, and a realistic remediation plan.
Months 2-4: Repair the foundation. Clean, deduplicate, standardize, and reconnect priority data; correct CRM structure and configuration issues; resolve high-impact attribution, lifecycle, segmentation, and integration problems.
Months 4-5: Prevent repeat issues. Create ownership rules, data definitions, SOPs, QA checklists, import standards, and practical workflow safeguards. Test the fixes with the people who use the systems.
Month 6: Validate and hand off. Re-audit against the agreed measures, document any remaining exceptions, train internal owners, and deliver an ongoing maintenance plan.
What Could Come Next
If the business has an ongoing need and the fit is right, this engagement could lead to a full-time Marketing Operations position. In that role, approximately 60-70% of the work would involve ongoing CRM / RevOps maintenance, marketing technology management, workflows, automation, and reporting. The other 30-40% would support broader marketing priorities based on the person's strengths and the team's needs. The company may also choose to conclude the contract and hire separately for the ongoing role.
Engagement Details
This is a remote U.S.-based six-month contract, with a preference for candidates in the Atlanta metro area. The initial audit will define the final agreed remediation scope and milestones. Potential conversion to full-time employment will be evaluated separately based on business needs, performance, skills, and mutual interest.
What You'll Own During the Contract
Improve HubSpot data quality and governance across CRM structure, properties, source attribution, lifecycle definitions, partner tracking, segmentation, and reporting.
Identify and resolve duplicate, incomplete, inconsistent, outdated, or disconnected records, including contact, company, and deal relationships where needed.
Trace problems back through business processes, system settings, imports, workflows, and integrations, then fix the cause rather than creating temporary workarounds.
Clarify how Marketing and Sales data connects with customer, revenue, finance, and operational data, partnering with Finance, Operations, and Technology where needed.
Define reliable sources of truth, field definitions, ownership responsibilities, QA routines, and documentation that support accurate reporting and future automation.
Repair existing HubSpot workflows or automations when necessary to ensure data integrity; prioritize foundational fixes over launching unrelated new campaigns or major systems projects.
Validate data behind key business metrics, including pipeline, revenue, source attribution, channel performance, and customer segmentation, as appropriate to the agreed scope.
What Success Looks Like
Priority CRM and connected-system data issues are corrected and checked against agreed quality benchmarks.
Critical attribution, lifecycle, segmentation, and integration processes are more dependable and have clear owners.
Data definitions, governance standards, workflows, SOPs, exception reports, and recurring QA checks are documented and usable.
Sales and Marketing have greater confidence in the data used for operational decisions and reporting; any residual issues have an explicit owner and resolution plan.
Qualifications
Approximately 3-5 years of relevant experience in RevOps, Marketing Operations, CRM administration, data operations, or data governance; equivalent project experience welcome.
Strong, hands-on HubSpot skills across CRM architecture, properties, data quality, workflows, integrations, and reporting.
Demonstrated experience cleaning a complex CRM dataset and building sustainable data-management processes, not just maintaining existing campaigns.
Comfort tracing issues across business processes, connected systems, and data flows; strong analytical problem-solving and documentation skills.
Ability to manage a prioritized project, communicate progress, and collaborate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Helpful: QuickBooks Online or other financial / ERP systems, SQL, BI tools, APIs, migrations, and experience supporting analytics or AI use cases.
Benefits
For an eligible future full-time position, Cornerstone Licensing offers PTO, health plan options (medical, dental, and vision), and a 401(k) matching program. Those benefits are not presented as part of the contract engagement.
